Sorare Thresholds
The now famous fantasy soccer game based on NFT allows you to participate in many leagues. Among them, there are the limited and rare divisions. Each manager will have to choose his strategy in order to hope to win as much money as possible.
Are thresholds a good investment? Let’s take a look at some of the answers.
Does it pay to play the thresholds on Sorare?
Playing the D4 division necessarily requires an initial investment since rare cards are about ten times more expensive than limited. However, thresholds are only available in rare leagues, and they can be profitable in the long run.
By finding underrated players or players who will become regulars in a future transfer, it is possible to build a team without blowing your Sorare budget.
To do this, we advise you to use the SorareData tool, which gathers all the data on the players of the game. You should use the primary market (auctions) if you want players with low prices, or the secondary market if you want players who have already acquired experience (XP).
Then you will have several chances to reach the thresholds each month (up to 8 possibilities since there are 2 gameweeks per week). Here, you don’t pay attention to the ranking of the managers anymore, each manager can earn euros by reaching a certain score.
Be careful though, obtaining a threshold is still in the news, but we don’t know exactly what the future will bring. In the worst case scenario, the thresholds could disappear in 2023.
Sorare thresholds: what's new
The thresholds have been the object of reflections on the side of the Sorare team.
March 29, 2022 announcement
Following the fluctuation of the ETH rate, Sorare wanted to introduce some stability in its reward system linked to thresholds. It was therefore decided that the rewards would be based on the Euro (but distributed in Ether).
Here is the table that summarizes this:
- for reaching 205 points, $25 ETH are distributed to managers
- for reaching 250 points, $50 ETH are distributed to managers
The other important information concerns the end of common cards in D4 thresholds. What does this mean?
Until the European season resumes in August 2022 (GW #292), each manager can field a threshold team consisting of 4 rare players and one common player. Usually this card is used for the goalkeeper position, since it is the highest priced card in the game. The common card suffers a malus, but it is still possible to get a good score with a top common goalie.
After this date, cards lower than rare will no longer be accepted. This means that you have to buy a rare goalie.
You have two choices if you want to continue playing this league:
- buy a starting rare goalie
- buy a substitute rare goalie by counting on the scores of the other 4 players to reach the thresholds
From May 20th until the European leagues resume
- 205 points will get $25 ETH
- 250 points will earn $50 ETH
- 205 points will earn 0.01 ETH
- 250 points will earn 0.02 ETH
Conclusion on the Sorare thresholds
To date, building a team is relatively expensive. However, it is one of the game modes that provides the best return on investment (ROI).
If you can create a team of 5 good soccer players who can perform well in matches every weekend, then you should give it a try! Remember to have at least 2 backups to cover for injuries or DNP’s.
