What is Sorare Set?
Sorare Set is Sorare’s free or freemium experience. Instead of starting with paid Limited, Rare or Super Rare cards, you enter a temporary Set, receive cards, build a roster and try to advance through objectives.
The value of Set is not that it magically gives you a full paid gallery. Its real value is that it teaches you the game: player selection, fixtures, scores, bonuses, positions and risk.
How Sorare Set works
A Set usually works like a seasonal board. You collect Set cards, build lineups, score points and unlock stages. Depending on the active Set, the board may include lives, streaks, missions, packs, Essence, Gems or special rewards.
Most lineups are built around five positions: goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward and one additional outfield player. That simple structure is perfect for learning the basics before moving to a deeper Sorare Pro strategy.
Daily objectives, Wheel and Sorare Set progression
Sorare Set progression is not only about opening packs. The daily routine matters a lot: objectives, Wheel tickets, Essence management and clean lineups can create a real snowball effect over a Set.

Depending on the current interface, the daily routine can include opening the daily pack, buying a pack, playing the Decisive Picker and collecting a 3-star player or better.
Why Wheel tickets matter
Completing objectives can give you Wheel tickets. The goal is to spin the Wheel as often as possible, because it can return extra Essence and useful resources for the next day.
Why keeping 3,000 Essence helps
Not every Bronze pack contains a 3-star player. Keeping around 3,000 Essence for the next day gives you more attempts to hit that objective and collect more Wheel tickets.
Sorare Set tips: how to play efficiently from the start
The best beginner strategy is not “open every pack randomly”. It is to build a daily routine, manage resources and submit lineups that actually have a chance to score.
Log in every day
The daily pack, missions and objectives are the base layer of progression. Missing days means missing cards, Essence and Wheel tickets.
Keep Essence for tomorrow
If a daily objective asks for a 3-star player or better, having Essence ready gives you more chances to open another Bronze pack and complete it.
Analyze the match-ups
A match-up is the team your player is facing. A good player in a tough match-up can score less than a less famous player in a better context.
Buy Gems early if you plan to buy them
Gems are optional. But if you already know you will buy some, doing it early in the Set can create a snowball effect: better packs earlier, stronger roster faster, more chances to clear later levels.
Essence and Gems in Sorare Set: what are they for?
Set seasons usually rely on two important resources: Essence and Gems. Essence is mostly earned through gameplay and progression. Gems are Sorare’s in-game currency and can be used to buy selected premium packs when available.
The important point is timing. Essence can help you keep opening Bronze packs and complete daily objectives. Gems can accelerate your progression, but they are not required to understand the mode.
Sorare Set packs: free, Bronze, Silver and Gold
Packs are the engine of Set progression. They add cards to your gallery, help you complete teams, improve your collection bonuses and give you more options for lineups.
Daily free pack
The simplest pack. It helps you grow your collection without spending and keeps your daily routine alive.
Bronze pack
Usually bought with Essence. It is useful for completing your roster and chasing daily objectives, especially when you need a 3-star player or better.
Silver pack
A premium pack in Gems. It is often the best compromise when you want better cards without spending too many Gems at once.
Gold pack
A more ambitious premium pack. It can offer a higher ceiling, but it also concentrates more Gems into a single opening.
Silver or Gold: which one should you choose?
Silver is often the best early compromise: lower cost, more attempts and more chances to find useful players for your lineups.
Gold makes more sense when your roster is already decent and you are looking for a bigger upgrade. The ceiling is higher, but the risk is also higher because you spend more Gems on one pack.
Simple advice: start with Silver to build a solid base. Move to Gold only if you already have enough playable cards and can accept that a premium pack may not solve your immediate need.
Leagues and player tiers in Sorare Set
Sorare Set can be split by major football competitions or leagues such as Premier League, LALIGA, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and European competitions, depending on the current official coverage.
Players can also be grouped by tiers. You may see labels such as Reserve, Roster, Key, Star or Icon. These tiers matter because they influence pack quality, lineup strength and the kind of progression you can realistically target.
Special editions and bonuses
Some Set cards have special visual editions and scoring bonuses. In previous Set seasons, Sorare used editions such as Base, Shiny, Holo, Legendary and Legendary Signed, with different bonus levels.
Collections can also matter. For example, collecting enough cards from a club or group can unlock a score bonus. This is why Set is not just random pack opening: roster construction and collection strategy both matter.
Sorare Set rewards: Essence, Gems, cards, crypto and cash
Rewards depend on the active Set and on your country. Early progression usually focuses on Essence and Gems, while more advanced levels may include stronger rewards, cards or other prizes under Sorare’s current rules.
In France and other regulated markets, some rewards can require account checks or responsible gaming limits. Always rely on the rules displayed in your Sorare interface.

Sorare Set Squads
Sorare has also tested cooperative Set mechanics through Squads. The idea is to join a group, submit lineups and combine efforts on a shared board.
When Sorare says that a Squad uses the best scores from the group, treat it as a collective mechanic. It does not necessarily mean that one beginner personally has to create several lineups. Always follow the exact wording in the current interface.
Sorare Set or Sorare Pro?
Stay on Sorare Set if you are still learning scoring, positions and fixture reading. Move toward Sorare Pro only when you understand the market, have a clear budget and accept that card prices can go down.
The clean path is: start with Set, learn the game, then use Sorare Pro only if the paid-card market genuinely interests you.
