On the 13/07/2022 was held the second Community Update of Sorare. The first Community Event had presented us 12 new features on gameplay, rewards, design, partnerships and the IOS App.

Expectations were therefore high for this second installment. Here are the main new features:

Sorare Soccer News

The part about soccer consisted mainly of a review of the actions taken since the previous Community Event: more communication, new leagues and new partnerships with clubs or soccer stars.

Android App available later this summer

After the announcement of the IOS App during the previous Community Event, Team Sorare announced that the Android App would be available by the end of the summer, without announcing a precise date.

Sorare MLB News

Most of the video was about news about MLB. Whether it’s about design or gameplay, a lot of details were unraveled.

Here they are:

Logo + Card Design

A new logo dedicated to Sorare MLB, as well as cards with a design similar to the last editions of Sorare Soccer.

Gameplay

Team Sorare’s goal is to keep as much fun as possible in the MLB gameplay, while taking into account the differences with soccer.

Building a team

You will need 7 players to build a team (2 pitchers / 3 hitters / 2 flex players):

  • 2 Pitchers :
    • 1 starting pitcher
    • 1 relief pitcher
  • 3 hitters:
    • 1 Corner infielder
    • 1 Middle infielder
    • 1 Outfielder
  • 2 flex players:
    • 1 flex hitter
    • 1 flex (regardless of position)

Game Weeks

There will be 2 GWs per week (Monday-Thursday / Friday-Sunday), which follow the MLB game schedule.

Scoring

Players’ performances are added together if a player participates in more than one game during the same GW.
A player only scores at the position he was selected by the manager.

You can find more info about MLB scoring in this article from the Sorare blog.

Number of cards issued per scarcity

Since the number of players is different from soccer, here is the distribution of cards by scarcity and by year :

  • 5000 Limited
  • 1000 Rare
  • 100 Super Rare
  • 1 Unique

Since the first MLB Sorare season will start in the middle of the Baseball championship, only 50% of the cards will be distributed this year.

Awards

40% of the new cards will be distributed as awards in the first season. Special leagues will be created to make sure that even the smallest managers can win interesting rewards.

Cards that can be used in each division

This distribution will be implemented gradually. At first, Sorare will be lenient and it will be possible to line up 3 Common cards in the Limited division.

Dates to remember

  • July 19th: it will be possible to use Common cards in Casual leagues
  • July 22: 1st GW Casual
  • A few weeks later: start of the other scarcity leagues
